Valerian and Prolival: an operational SaaS solution
The pre-analysing and designing steps to create a draft solution have implied a partnership between Valerian - subsidiary company of Elcimaï Group - and Prolival. Both teams have then exchanged their skills to offer an operational SaaS solution.
This offer is a complementary mix of Valerian expertise - backed by an over 25-year experience in designing and implementing bank/company flow exchange software - and of Prolival expertise in hosting and operating services for banks.
Such a strong and secured mixed solution enables to provide our clients with the resourceful standard features of Espace Banque - our multiformat and multiprotocol flow exchange software. It also secures the service continuity and offers a clear and economical price model on a mutualisation basis.
Since it was launched one year ago, six clients - banks and companies - have subscribed to Valerian-Elcimaï/Prolival SaaS offer they daily use.

Valerian deploys a new main version of its WEB service offer: WeBank V3
During the last few months, both Valerian's and its clients' teams have implemented major ergonomical and functional evolutions based on the WeBank V3 offer.
The main new developments were placed on following units:
-
WeBank V3 : this unit that comprehends the interactive functions (such as file transfers, manual data entering...) is divided in applicative subsections that particularly make the related applicative software package modular.
The main evolutions concern following items :
- new design of the separate signature unit (batch signature, new screens, differentiated forms...),
- automated handling of recurring transactions,
- managing the lists of recipients (WeBank Creditors),
- managing the rights allowing an authorised user to delegate all or part of his/her rights, from a secured portal, to a delegate,
- multicriteria invoicing to dispatch invoicing data from the flows to the accounting system.
-
WeBank Portal SSO : this unit allows to check the subscriber’s secret codes (controlling the X509 certificate, the logins/passwords, the OTP ids), to manage the SSO (Single Sign-On) as a whole, to manage dynamic menus according to the subscriber’s rights and to integrate the different applications in a consistent graphic charter. It also enables to integrate remote sites by exchanging secured contexts.
-
WeBank Net V2 : this unit allows to integrate any reporting service in a parameterable and dynamic way. Evolutions have been carried out on real-time management of consolidations and on extending the customising options for screens and menus.
-
WeBank Edito V2 : this unit enables Valerian’s clients to animate and develop their Internet websites independently through inserting marketing items, for instance. The main related evolutions have conveyed new Web objects (flash items, texts, images, links...), new paired (maker/checker) validation functions and new WYSIWYG intuitive interface features.

Valerian advises the release of its EBICS client station
Based on its strong 25-year-old expertise in analysing and treating multiformat and multiprotocol exchanges between banks and companies
and in maintaining its Espace Banque application, Valerian has developed a client station designed to companies and totally compatible to
EBICS T and TS.
Further to its compatibility to Valerian’s banking servers, our station has been designed to be easily implemented and used.
Its main features:
- multi-users (data sharing);
- multi-formats (SEPA, CFONB, EDIFACT, proprietary formats);
- multi-banks (only one interface to deal with multi-branch declarations and management);
- multi-certification authorities / multi-means (management of certificates issued by different authorities, management of certificates stored locally or on USB flash drives);
- multi-platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix...);
- automated flow handling in batch mode (transparent exchanges with banks, and exchange centralisation).

EBICS TS: Valerian and its clients meet the related regulations’ needs
Following several detailed tests proving how well the EBICS version - TS profile – for its application suite (Espace Banque and WeBank)
is working, Valerian – subsidiary company of Elcimaï Group – implemented this evolution at a client’s in early October this year.
The deployed version transfers a certificate validation through the DICTAO DVS validation server. The success of this implementation points to
Valerian’s EBICS TS deployment campaign among all its customers.
April 2010
Valerian is on the move to set up the EBICS TS Profile.
Valerian has successfully launched EBICS T Profile (previously called: stage 1) with BNP PARIBAS and Crédit Coopératif and is currently
proceeding the same with four other clients. At the same time the company is preparing the next step, called TS Profile (previously named EBICS stage 2).
This launching follows the issue of the Implementation Guide Version 2.0 from April 19th, 2010, introduced at CFONB meeting on April 15th, 2010.
In particular, this meeting has stressed the intention of market authorities to speed up the opening of the current Franco-German axis to other European countries.
This opening will be optimised through the creation of a joint CFONB/ZKA structure in May 2010 and will show EBICS as a main standard among other European exchange protocols.
Valerian "EBICS TS compliant" software products will be available at the end of 2nd quarter/beginning of 3rd quarter of 2010 and will include many options
to manage EBICS TS in both easy and secured ways.
